Art Therapy for Anxious Children, Teens, and Young Adults

“I’m worried for us.”

My young child has been clinging to me after a big change and has a hard time falling asleep at night. He’s always been a sensitive child, but I’m starting to think this is more than that. I don’t know what to do.

“…I’m worried about her.”

My middle school dreamer is struggling to keep up at school and is starting to feel left out by her friends. It breaks my heart to see her feel like she isn’t good enough.

“We’re worried….and need help.”

My overwhelmed, distant teen has tried therapy before, and it seems like nothing works. It’s the same boring worksheets and breathing exercises. They shut down or say “I don’t know” when I ask what’s wrong or how I can help, but I know they’re hurting.

You don’t have to face this alone, and your child doesn’t either.

Hi, I’m Heather.

As an art therapist and counselor who has personal experience being an anxious young person, I have been there.

I know how hard it is to open up to new people, to be trapped in the cycle of “What if?!”, or to prefer being alone in my room drawing for hours. To dread change, challenges, and the future.

All of that is so hard, and it feels like it’s never going to end. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

With a decade of clinical experience, an office full of art supplies, and the right tools to be able to work through anxiety whenever and wherever it shows up, my clients leave therapy feeling more confident and capable to handle whatever comes next.

Soon, your child will have an outlet where they can just be themselves and begin to thrive instead of just managing to survive.

I can help.
