Intake Process

  • 1. Free Consultation

It’s hard to take the first step! It can be even harder to find a connection with a new therapist that feels right for your child. In our first phone call, we can figure out if I am a good fit for your needs and make a plan together about how to get started.

  • 2. Parent Meeting or Adult Intake

Great therapy begins with a deeper understanding of your (or your child’s) needs. This 60-minute assessment session begins the process of identifying strengths, challenges, and possible goals for therapy in addition to taking a developmental, social, and medical history. Each individual is treated from a whole-person perspective, with respect and dignity.

  • 3. Art Therapy Assessment

The final stage of the intake process is an individual or family art therapy assessment. We complete art tasks or “directives”, and begin to use art as an accessible expressive tool. For kids, teens, and adults, art can be a natural language that can translate our inner world outside of ourselves and help build connections.
